For the 1999 model year, the engine was replaced with a more powerful, aluminum-block, 253 hp (189 kW; 257 PS) at 6400 rpm version of the engine. Car is equipped to do 0-62 in 5.9 seconds and top speed is clocked at 126 MPH. The 97 and 98 models was slower all the way around. Starting in 1999 they added more power.
