Vehicle Description
1985 ASTON MARTIN V8 VOLANTE “7.0 LITER BIG BORE X-PACK SPECIFICATION” --York Red with Fawn leather piped in Burgundy interior, Beige carpeting, Tan Mohair top, specially prepared 7.0 liter engine, 5-speed manual gearbox, 18,000 miles from new. This original European Specification V8 Volante has been in long term ownership, purchased from Autosport Designs, Inc in 1999. An excellent V8 Volante, it has been converted to a PoW front valance, 16” Ronal factory wheels and a manual 5-speed gearbox. A stunning new interior was completed in 2003 by Coachtrim LLC, featuring new leather throughout, utilizing the last of the Connolly hides and Wilton carpeting throughout. At this time a bare-metal repaint was carried out in the original color – all chrome was re-plated and trim refinished per factory spec. Completing the restoration work, the interior wood trim was refinished and the audio system was upgraded. In 2004, a 7 liter engine upgrade was designed for the Volante, encompassing a 4340 billet crankshaft, ported and polished cylinder heads, custom ground camshafts, custom forged JE pistons, custom Carrillo connecting rods, ceramic clutch, and 4 bolt mains. Carburetors were upgraded and jetted to X-Pack specification and a Custom ignition system installed. Large bore custom headers and a large bore custom exhaust compliment the build. To manage the massive torque of the new motor, the differential carrier bolts were strengthened and a 3.73 posi differential was utilized. This Volante has been a two-time Greenwich Concours participant and is accompanied by an impressive catalogue of long time ownership, maintenance and restoration records – in addition, factory books, jack and tools. Among the most impressive driving Vintage Aston Martins available, this Volante will be a thrill to any performance enthusiast’s collection and is ready for immediate road use and enjoyment.
