For Sale:
2007 Chevy Tahoe LT
205,000 miles
Selling my super-clean 2007 Chevy Tahoe LT. This truck is in excellent shape with only minor scratches and dings in the finish. Rust free except for a small spot on the lower rear driver’s side door just above the running board (see pic). I am only the second owner, I bought it at 92,000 miles. This truck has the 5.3L Vortec V8. Starts every time and runs very smooth. Car has been properly maintained all its life, with regular service and oil changes. Its got plenty of power and tows extremely well. I lifted the front suspension to take out the factory “rake” and to allow me to fit 33” tires. These look great and perform very well off-road and in the snow, but be aware that they are LOUD. Test drive it yourself and decide if the road noise is too much for you. They have a decent amount of tread left but you should probably plan on replacing them in the near future. The tires don’t rub even during extreme turning.
The interior leather looks brand new except for some light wear on the driver’s seat and steering wheel. There are no tears in any of the leather except for a 1” split in the center console lid. The truck has never been smoked in. The interior trim and faux wood all look factory-new. All windows, door locks, seat controls, interior lights, etc work perfectly. Truck has remote start and dual front power heated seats, Sound system is excellent and includes an aftermarket Bluetooth unit. Climate controls all work properly except for the A/C unit (see below) which needs a recharge.
I pulled all the OBDII codes (see screenshot). The check engine light is NOT on, but there is a code for the oil pressure sensor (Google ”DTC P0521”; there are a bunch of YouTube videos about it), which probably means the sensor needs replacement. It has just had an oil change.
The “Service Airbag” light is on, but there is an active airbag recall in place for this model (recall #N212328780) which should hopefully take care of that issue for free. The airbag indicator reads “On”, so I haven’t been too worried, but you should definitely take advantage of the recall to get it addressed.
Additional upgrades:
New windshield June 2022
New battery June 2022
New negative battery cable May 2022
Transfer case replaced January 2022
Transmission replaced February 2019
2.5” front leveling kit installed 2019
33” Firestone Destination AT tires installed 2019
Other known issues:
Both front struts need replacement. You’ll definitely hear it when driving, its loud and annoying. I had the struts out when I did the lift kit, its no big deal to replace them. Be aware that the lift kit spacers are on top of the struts, so if you want to keep running the 33” tires without rubbing you’ll need to save the spacers and re-install them when putting in the new struts. If you’re planning on replacing the tires with the original size you can just chuck the spacers and restore the truck to the factory ride height. I did the lift kit install with a friend in 2019 and it has been great. Total time to install both sides was about 2 hours. All you need besides normal automotive hand tools is a jack and jack stands. Here’s the kit I used, their web site has good instructions: Be sure to get an alignment after re-installing the lift kit.
Rear wiper doesn’t work. I can hear the motor running when I hit the switch, but the wiper arm doesn’t move. Maybe a simple fix, maybe not.
A/C blows cool, not cold. I used a cheap refill kit last summer and it worked for a while, but the system probably needs to be properly recharged.
Latch for opening the rear glass doesn’t work. The tailgate itself opens and closes fine, but the button to pop open the glass alone does not. This hasn’t worked since I bought the car, and its never been an issue for me.
The alloy wheels are starting to show some corrosion
All in all this is a great truck that has served me very well. Considering the year and mileage it looks fantastic. I’m pricing it to sell because of the strut issue and because I need to get it out of my work parking lot. Truck is currently in Portsmouth RI, available to view anytime between 9am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. Serious offers only. No trades, no BS.
