Vehicle Description
2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500 cargo diesel.
Needs new motor. Clean title in hand. Nearly new tires.
I very enthusiastically bought this van for my business this last September, and quickly learned that I’d been scammed. The seller had hidden the fact that the 5th cylinder is bad, and will need a new or rebuilt engine. Luckily I have a clear title and all the legal documents for the vehicle, and will now sell it as a loss. This is a clean and sought after body style, with the (ironically) least problematic engine year types of these vehicles. I had the Mercedes dealership in Wilsonville go through the rest of the engine and body, and everything else checks out. A new engine will cost you between $5,500 and $8000, depending on what type of warrantee you want. Installation depends on your skill level and/or level of warrantee you want, at which point you’ll have a basically new motor in a great cargo sprinter that will be worth quite a bit more. The cargo area is insulated, as it was a refrigeration van (unit and components removed) but raw and ready for any type of build out.
I’m very happy to share all the knowledge and research I’ve accumulated regarding getting this great van rolling again. The math of the investment is self evident, and will work out great for someone especially if they have diesel knowledge. I unfortunately cannot go further into debt to fix it.
Feel free to reach out for more info, I’ll be happy to work with you and make sure this is right for you. I was treated for extreme dishonesty when I acquired the van, so want to be sure the next owner feels really good about it. That being said, I will not be negotiating the price.
