HISTORY OF USE:
Grandpa bought it in 2003. I'm not sure who had it before him but believe it had only 1 owner before him.
From 2003-2008: my parents used it to haul our 6-horse trailer around the country to competitions. They say it hauled a full load of horses and equipment as if nothing was behind us; actually got better mileage loaded than not.
Since 2008: My parents' business changed so they only hauled locally on rare occasions after 2008 and used it for light farm work like hauling hay and grain. They no longer need it so we're selling it to help fund my wedding.
WHAT SOME MAY VIEW AS PROBLEMS - but we could live without, so didn't repair:
*"4WD" light - does not work but truck shifts into 4WD just fine.
*ABS braking system not used for over a decade. Grandpa spent lots of money to fix it and another sensor went bad. He was old-school so had no interest in repair. Kelly Blue Book price was calculated based on this truck NOT having ABS so please don't mention this as a reason for lowering the price.
*Body damage sustained while working on farm. See photos. Would be good project for handy-person but our family used this as a work tool so never invested time/money into repairs.
*Rust common to trucks of this age; we have tried to keep it at bay by spraying with primer/paint annually but it has rusted through bottom one of rear door.
*Driver side back door doesn't open
*Fuel gauge is not very accurate. We set trip meter at each fill-up and get fuel when it reaches 250 miles.
*Dash board weather aged/cracked; bought a carpet dash cover to prevent more sun damage.
We set price to allow new owner wiggle room to do repairs that new owner believes is worth investment.
Make an offer! Price is negotiable but no low-ball offers please.
