Vehicle Description
Up for sale is my 1987 Merkur XR4Ti project car. This car has the manual transmission and the turbo 2.3 Lima engine. This car is not currently running. In the very least, it will need the gas tank cleaned (already out), but more likely will need a replacement tank. I can put you in touch with someone who refurbishes them and has one nearly ready to go.
When I purchased the car, the previous owner had owned it since the late 90s. It has been in his garage most of the time and hasn't been driven since 2010. I have already pulled the tank and emptied the gas. I have also purchased new plug wires, fuel filter, spark plugs, new battery, newer tires, and a couple more items. The car is complete and will come with a lot of additional parts for the new owner including:
-rear end
-hood
-both doors with glass
-hatch with glass
-complete 2.3 engine with turbo and manifold
-T5 transmission
-misc parts
-shop manuals and wiring schematics
Again, these are all in addition to the car itself.
This car has been in the south its entire life, therefore it has very minimal rust. Upon removing the gas tank, I found a sport where dirt had been trapped against the tank and the sheet metal, forming a bit of rust there. It is pictured. Also, the driver's side seat bracket has a bit of rust bubbling around it. Again, minimal, but its there.
The title is in my name and ready to go. The title shows branded due to it having a 5 digit odometer. No accident history.
Ready to move the car, but not going to give it away. I have $1,900 in it but will take a loss as I am about to pick up a truck and I need the room. I will let go for $1,500 with everything Merkur that I have with it.
