Vehicle Description
This Dart is a slant six 2 bbl with automatic trans, air cond and power steering. This car has not been started since 2008. It ran perfect as an everyday driver but one day started an engine knock. I think its a rod bearing. It has approx 115,000 actual miles. Everything worked fine including the air conditioner when parked. It has been converted to the refrigerant that was used around 2004-2005. There are some areas that have deteriorated from sitting for 15 years. Both tail light lenses are broke. There is dents and some rust on the passengers side rear quarter. A crease on the rear door on PS also. The interior used to be very, very nice but I noticed since sitting the headliner started to come down in the rear part and the seats showing some splitting along some of the seams. All the photos I took are how the car currently sits. I did not attempt to clean anything. I can include photos of the engine if wanted. It definitely needs body work and now interior restoration. Rebuild or simply exchange core for a rebuilt long block and the car will be running fine again. Obviously changing all fluids needs to be done too. It has front disc brakes. I have to look to see if power brake or not. To start this engine it needs fresh fuel and a good battery. The oil has not been changed since probably 2007. The engine has a loud knock and should not be run other than to hear it run. Any starting or even running the damaged engine will only further damage the crankshaft. It is possible now to have the crank turned and oversized bearings used. A rebuilt long block would probably be the most economical choice. I reduced the price on this car. I need the space and have to sell soon.
